Moinho Garcia is located in Pinheiro da Bemposta, 50 km south of Porto, 20 km north of Aveiro, 17 km from the coast and only 1,5 km from the Camino Santiago portugues. The motorway A1 Porto Lisboa and the National 1 IC2 Porto Coimbra pass nearby. There are train connections in neighbouring Estarreja, or trains and busses in the next city Oliveira de Azemeis.
From Moinho Garcia it is not far to the mountains inland, the lagoons of the bioria at the coast, and the cultural hotspots of Porto and Aveiro.
How to get here
The mill is secluded, yet only 200 meters from the next village Pinheiro da Bemposta. Moinho Garcia is easy to reach
from Porto or Lisbon: The A1 and the IC2 are passing nearby.

train: with the train from Porto or Lisboa to Estarreja, where I can pick you up for an extra fee.
bus : with the bus to Oliveira de Azemeis, where I can pick you up for an extra fee, some buses stop as well in Pinheiro da Bemposta
pilgrims who walk the camino portugues have two options to get to the mill. They can leave the trail at the old railway station in Pinheiro da Bemposta and turn left instaed of following the camino signs. Or they leave the camino already in Curval.
Moinho Garcia is easy to reach with the car, because the two main traffic axes of Portugal pass nearby; The A1 Porto Lisboa and the N1 IC2 Porto Coimbra. From the A1 you take the Exit Estarreja and drive to Pinheiro da Bemposta. From the N1 IC2 you turn in Pinheiro da Bemposta direction Estarreja. Shortly after a Cepsa-gasstation at a crossing you turn slightly left to the campo de futbol pinheirense. After 800 meters and a garage you turn left into rua garcia, into a forest till the mill.
The last 200 Meters to the mill are dirtway. And the last 30 meters into the valley are steep. Please, park your car 30 meters above the mill, at the parking sign and descend the last meters by foot. Later you can decide wether you want to park the car directly in front of the mill or not.
